Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What does TAIYORO mean?
"Taiyoro" (short for "TAIsen YOROshiku") means "Good luck with the match!" and is used as a greeting before a game/match. Our service name is inspired by this phrase.
Q. How are the events listed on TAIYORO selected? Can I apply to have an event listed?
TAIYORO strives to list as many game event broadcasts as possible, including eSports tournaments and gaming events in Japan, community tournaments, and international tournaments with Japanese broadcasts. We list events that fit the following criteria according to TAIYORO's own standards.
- Official domestic pro leagues and tournaments
- Japanese broadcasts of official overseas pro leagues and tournaments
- Highly recognized community tournaments
- Events/tournaments deemed highly significant for Japan's eSports industry
* "Pro league" refers to a series of tournaments featuring players registered on rosters with contracted teams.
* "Community tournament" refers to tournaments not hosted by game developers/publishers. If you have information on events or tournaments not listed, please contact us via the contact form. Information from event organizers, operators, and PR is also welcomed.
Q. Where should I inquire if I find an error in an event listing?
We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information on this website, but there may be inaccuracies or typos. Please contact us through the contact form for any errors or requests for corrections in the listed information.
Q. I found a game broadcast unrelated to an event displayed on the site. Why is this?
While we register broadcaster information before an event starts, broadcasters may change their plans and stream different games or show different content due to their streaming settings. TAIYORO detects and corrects this as much as possible, but some cases may be difficult to identify, in these cases we ask you for your understanding and cooperation.
Q. I can't view a live stream or VOD.
This may be due to the broadcaster restricting the visibility range on each streaming platform or the VOD being deleted.
Q. What is the TAIYORO Score?
The TAIYORO Score is a metric developed by TAIYORO to reflect the popularity of gaming events and eSports tournaments. This metric includes four factors: the time the event was held, total viewing hours, peak concurrent viewers, and average concurrent viewers, and is calculated based on these data points.
Q. What are "Pick Up" Events?
These are recommended events selected by the TAIYORO editorial team based on unique criteria. They are updated regularly.
Q. How is the ranking on the home page determined?
It displays the ranking from the past week of events in descending order by TAIYORO Score.
Q. What is Pick'em Points?
TAIYORO runs "Pick'em" where points can be earned for correct predictions of game/match outcomes. High scores may also lead to rewards. The displayed Pick'em Points represent the total points earned.
Q. What is the Watchlist?
By clicking/tapping the ❤️ icon on each event page, you can save favorite events. Use it to avoid missing broadcasts or as a bookmark for events you want to revisit later and watch the VOD.
